Jokermans MK2 Golf - Norealupdates 13/07/10

Postby Jokerman » Wed Mar 10, 2010 8:07 pm

About time I got some pics up, did some work today so thought I'd get everyone caught up. :)
Excuse the terrible pics. :)

Bought this way back in July from Chris(soal6 I think on here).
It had a full system, coilovers, MB Racing wheels (13x7), mostly GTI interior, smoked valver tailights, short shifter, some engine fun and probably a few other bits I'm forgetting.

Couple of photos from the advert

...and a couple from the first few days of owning her.

Then it pretty much stayed like that for a long time, except I sprayed the badges black as the silver was tatty.

Then she went into winter mode.

Recently I put on a 16v front spoiler and heres how she stands at the moment.

So last night I got a few new parts from Dan(Notso_Bora), one of the things that had been annoying me was the black boot carpet but grey parcel shelf and supports (plus the rear speakers were blown anyway  ) so replaced those today.

After

Also picked this up from Dan to replace the standard driver cubby holes/pockets, hopefully get these fitted and wired this weekend.

Future plans, new wheels (got something in mind which are definitely as unique as the MB's...atleast in the UK ;) ), arches rolled and coilies dropped again and to tidy up the various blemishes, scratches, parking dents ect in the bodywork.

Reluctant to post this but I thought you guys might like to see my wee project for show season(...all one that I'm going to haha)

You don't hang around! The black makes a big difference.

Good to meet you last night, tidy wee mk2 you have there.

Looking good :) Are the speakers uprated or just standard ones?

Thanks guys.
Sorry Chris, doing my best to care of her though. :)
Thanks Dan, usually I don't do anything until I have to  Had a day off today so just got down to it, definitely does make a great difference (makes me want all black interior now, leather?! :v:), shame the pics don't show it though. Also put on that plastic trim for the boot which looks nice aswell. :)
Rear speakers are standard OEM jobbies, door speakers are some nice Kenwood examples Blake. :)

Very smart. Really like how you have kept the small bumpers, as I think that looks better imo.

Is it a driver?

Aye she's a driver Greigzy, I think the main thing I was looking for when I was searching for a MK2 was that it had to have small bumpers.

Cheers Gus.

Computer games dont affect kids, I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music

Me and Blake got down to some more work today. (Things go so much faster with 2 people, thanks babe. :) )
Not many pics I'm afraid but we manged to get the door speakers installed so thats something to cross of my list. Bit of a faff with some little bits but mostly a straightforward job.

Just a quick pic of my MK1 gear nob that I put in a while ago, good to know VW have a sense of humor. ;)

Gonna order some new bits and bobs this week hopefully so I've got some proper updates to show you. I will have new wheels at some point. :yay:

Yes - I love small bumpered Mk2s with 4 light grilles and 16v splitters. Is that raised for the winter there or is the car on a jack?

Haha kool pic Blake.
Thanks Toby, yeah there's a jack on the left side but it is sitting awfully high anyway, winters over I should get my arse into gear and get her low again. :)

Just a quick wee update today. Got my hands on some linseed oil today, was a bit skeptical about it but it's fairly done its work(just in time for the snow), hopefully won't be grey again next week like back to black. :picard:
Sorry the pics don't show it well, was loosing light. :)
